Earth

The illustration on the right side of this page shows the Dendera Zodiac in its natural state with no rotations applied to the stones and with the God that represents Earth highlighted in the night sky circle. The decryption rotations need to be applied to the stone circles to be able to start to analyse the manner in which The Earth is encoded into the carving, which can be performed by clicking the next button.

The puzzle starts to become more complex to decode at this stage with additional superfluous adjustments made to the geometry.

The illustration on the right of the page now shows the Dendera Zodiac in its unencrypted state with the decrypted celestial axes from the planet Venus's geometry puzzle drawn in white and the inner circumference of the outer hieroglyph stone ring also marked. However, the origin of Venus's celestial axes has been moved on the illustration to the second focal point of the Venus orbit. This extra level of obfuscation needs recognising in order to solve the Earth puzzle.

The carving of the Earth God has not previously been identified by scholars because it does not have any hieroglyphs above it naming it as a particular God and because it was always assumed that the planisphere in the night sky circle was a view from the Earth up to the planets and stars, which is not the case. The reason that the Earth God can be identified is because the systematic geometry that has been seen so far in the previous two planets dictates that there must be an Earth God on the sculpture and that God must have a geometric alignment with the intersection of the celestial axes from the previous planet and the highlighted hieroglyph circle.

The Earth God is the only previously unidentified God carving on the inner night sky circle which has a geometric alignment to the intersection of the Venus celestial axis and the hieroglyph ring, with the God's left arm pointing directly to the intersection point which is marked with a small yellow circle in the bottom right of the illustration.

1) RESOLVING EARTH'S FRAMEWORK

If the southern section of the N-S celestial axis line is rotated around the intersect point on the hieroglyph circle by 13.906° anticlockwise it falls perfectly onto the lower arm line of the Earth God, which can be shown by clicking the next button.

The rotation angle of this line is a value derived from the final ephemeris data on the previous Venus page and is 100 times the X value of the state vectors that were shown at the bottom of table 8. The value is given in Astronomical Units (AU) in that table and needs to have its units changed into degrees giving the angle as 13.90606378860081°, which is the rotation angle that has just been applied to achieve the alignment shown on the illustration.

The location of the hand of the Earth God on this line is also derived from the Venus ephemeris data of table 8. The distance from the intersection point of the hieroglyph circle to the Earth God's hand is 86.058763 cm which is the 'time of periapsis' Julian Day number with the leading 4 digits ignored. The reason for using this value is so that there is a cross check in the puzzle to make sure that you are using the time of periapsis that follows the geometric winter solstice event and not the one that precedes it.

The celestial axes can now be moved from their current location, dictated by the focal point of Venus, to the hand of the Earth God which dictates the origin of these axes for the Earth puzzle. Whilst moving the axes, they can also be rotated into their correct orientation so that the N-S axis ends up aligned with the Earth God's arm.

2) SOLVING EARTH USING NASA DE441 DATA

The construction line used in the geometry and outer hieroglyph ring have now served their purposes and can be removed from the illustration by clicking the next button, leaving just the Earth's celestial axes and Earth God on the illustration.

It is now possible animate the three principal astronomy angles onto the illustration as was performed on all previous pages. In order to do this the NASA ephemeris data is required for the Earth planet system, that includes both The Earth and The Moon rotating around a common barycenter at the moment given in DE441 for the geometric winter solstice of 2729 BCE.

Table 9 - The data for The Earth planet system at the DE441 geometric winter solstice in the year 2729 BCE
The first of the astronomy angles that needs animating is the longitude of the ascending node angle of the Earth system projected from the ICRF reference plane onto the plane of the orbit of The Moon, which is the plane of the Dendera Zodiac. This can be shown on the illustration by clicking the following button.

Because by definition the longitude of the ascending node of Earth is always very close to the celestial north direction this angle is very small at 0.16° and therefore almost indistinguishable from the red line of the node. The argument of periapsis is the next angle that can be plotted by clicking the following button.

The argument of periapsis line aligns with the back of the head of the eastern standing Goddess in the top right of the sculpture. The focal points of the orbit of Earth can now be marked onto the green apsis line and are close together because the orbit's eccentricity is small.

The final of the three principal astronomy angles is the true anomaly and this can be animated onto the illustration by clicking the next button. This line has no associated carving features on the Dendera Zodiac.

As with the previous planets, the whole of the geometric system now needs to be moved onto the easterly of the two focal points and this movement can be confirmed as having been made to the correct focal point only when the Mars system is studied on the next page. This is because the system that has just been produced for The Earth has to align somehow with the staff of the Mars God, the location of which is known because it was identified by scholars in the past due to the hieroglyphs that are present above the top of the carving of the God. Whilst analysing the positioning of the Earth system for this page the staff line of the Mars God was used throughout the analysis.

3) EXTRACTING THE EPHEMERIS DATA FOR EARTH

The illustration can now be set up with the celestial axes and the gravity marker points so that it is ready for the extraction of the numerical data from the Dendera Zodiac sculpture. The two gravity markers are the mini planet system at the bottom left of the sculpture which has been used on all the previous pages and the Horus 'sword' marker which was used on the Moon page and which is the alignment carving for extracting the Standard Gravitational Parameter for both The Moon and The Earth.

The GM value for the Earth uses the two alignment mechanisms to ensure that the value can be extracted to the required precision. Because the corrected value shown above is for the combined Earth-Moon system, and the value of GM for The Moon was extracted on the Moon page then the GM value for The Earth can be calculated as being 398600.43550309516. This compares to the NASA DE441 value of 398600.435507, remembering that a proportion of the difference between the two being that the Dendera Zodiac is using the 16 digit value of G=6.6743072181684-11 m3 kg-1 s-2 that was extracted from the Great Pyramid's main chamber rather than the current 4 decimal place value.

4) THE DENDERA EPHEMERIS DATA FOR EARTH

The full ephemeris of Earth taken entirely from the Dendera Zodiac is shown below in table 10. The values in the table that were not directly extracted from the stonework have been calculated from the extracted values using the software than runs this website by applying standard celestial mechanics formulae.
